A Labuan Bajo city tour by car with driver is a half-day private charter: a six-hour block, one vehicle, one driver, and the town’s main sights in a single loop. The fixed stop list covers Batu Cermin Cave, Puncak Waringin viewpoint, the harbour promenade at Kampung Ujung, a local food stop, and a sunset viewpoint at Bukit Cinta or Sylvia Hill. Pricing is per car, not per person — indicative from USD 45 for the six-hour block as of 2026, with waiting time at every stop already included.
There is nothing for you to plan. Tell us your hotel, your pickup time and how many people are travelling; the driver handles the route, the parking and the timing. Labuan Bajo Private Driver is operated under Komodo Luxury, which has run guest transport across Flores and Bali since 2015.
What is included in the six-hour block?
This is a charter, not a shuttle. From pickup until the six hours are up, the car and driver stay with you — including the time you spend inside the cave, on a viewpoint, or at lunch. Standard inclusions:
- Private vehicle and driver for six consecutive hours, with hotel or harbour pickup and drop-off.
- Fuel, parking fees and the driver’s meal — no per-stop surcharges asked for on the road.
- Waiting time at every stop, and free reordering of the stop list on the day.
- An English-speaking driver-guide who can explain what you are looking at rather than only drive to it. Our English-speaking private driver page explains how we match drivers to guests.
- Bottled water and phone charging in the car.
Not included: entrance tickets and the small local guide fee at Batu Cermin, which are paid at the gate in rupiah; your own food and drinks; and anything added beyond the six-hour block. Extra hours are quoted before you commit, never added afterwards.
Which stops are on the list?
The stop list is fixed so you know what you are buying. The order is flexible so the driver can work around light, crowds, traffic and your own pace. Typical stops, with drive times from the town centre:
- Batu Cermin Cave — a limestone cave named for the “mirror” effect when sunlight hits the calcite walls, roughly 15–20 minutes inland. Morning gives the strongest light beams; the paths get slippery after rain.
- Puncak Waringin — hilltop viewpoint and craft house a few minutes above the main street, looking over the harbour and the outer islands.
- Kampung Ujung waterfront — the harbour promenade and evening food strip, best in the late afternoon as the boats come back in.
- A local food stop — a warung, a coffee place or a seafood grill, picked to suit what you want to eat.
- Bukit Cinta or Sylvia Hill — the two classic sunset viewpoints over Labuan Bajo bay, each around 10–15 minutes out. The driver takes whichever is clearer on the day.
- Optional swap: Melo Village — 30–45 minutes into the hills, for Manggarai culture and long coastal views, if you would rather trade a town stop for altitude.
Bigger targets such as Rangko Cave or Cunca Wulang waterfall do not fit inside six hours once you count the walk, the boat and the road back. Those belong in a full day — see day-trip private driver if that is closer to what you had in mind.
Why does this work on an arrival day or a cancelled boat day?
Two situations bring most guests here. The first is arrival day: you land at Komodo Airport (LBJ) around midday, your boat trip starts tomorrow, and you have an afternoon to fill without unpacking twice. The city tour drops into that gap and can start at the terminal if you pair it with an airport private driver pickup.
The second is a weather day. Conditions in the Komodo channel can cancel a boat departure at short notice, often with only a few hours’ warning. The land route still works when the sea does not, and outside peak season a car can usually be arranged the same morning. To be straight about the constraint: the Labuan Bajo vehicle pool is small, and from June to September the good cars are committed days ahead — same-day availability in high season is possible, but not something we will promise in advance.
How much does a Labuan Bajo city tour cost in 2026?
The rates below are indicative, per car, for a six-hour block, as of 2026. They cover the whole vehicle no matter how many seats you fill, which is why sharing a car beats per-seat marketplace tickets for couples and families.
| Vehicle | Comfortable for | Indicative 6-hour block |
|---|---|---|
| Toyota Avanza | Up to 4 guests, light bags | from USD 45 |
| Toyota Innova | Up to 5 guests | from USD 60 |
| Toyota Innova Zenix | Up to 5 guests, newer cabin | from USD 75 |
| Electric car (EV) | Up to 4 guests, town loop only | from USD 75 |
| Toyota Fortuner | Up to 5 guests, higher ride | from USD 95 |
| Toyota HiAce | Up to 12 guests | from USD 110 |
| Isuzu Elf minibus | Up to 16 guests | from USD 130 |
| Toyota Alphard | Up to 4 guests, executive | from USD 190 |
Pricing disclaimer: these figures are indicative ranges reflecting the Labuan Bajo market as of 2026, not a fixed published tariff. Real rates move with season, vehicle availability, fuel cost and how far outside town the loop runs. Hours beyond the six-hour block are quoted separately. Your final price is confirmed on WhatsApp before anything is booked. The full fleet breakdown sits on our private driver price list.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Labuan Bajo city tour priced per person or per car?
Per car. Four people in an Avanza pay the same as one person in an Avanza, which is why a private charter usually beats per-seat tickets once you travel as a pair or a family.
Can I change the stop order or skip a stop?
Yes. The list is a template, not a timetable. Skip the cave if caves are not your thing, add a supermarket run before a boat trip, or spend the saved time at the sunset viewpoint. As long as it fits inside six hours, the driver will make it work.
Does the driver speak English?
Our city tour drivers work in English at a practical, conversational level and can explain the places you stop at. They are experienced local drivers, not licensed national tour guides — if you want formal guided commentary, tell us and we will arrange a guide alongside the car.
How far ahead should I book, especially in high season?
Outside June to September, a day or two is usually enough. During the June–September peak, book as soon as your dates are fixed: the local fleet is small and the better vehicles are taken first.
